Frequently Asked Questions
Quad bikes and buggies 1) I was in the market for Japanese quad as I have heard they are more reliable, is this true? Initially this was the case, but in recent years a lot of the components of Yamaha, Suzuki, etc are made in china as well as the assembly, now a days far eastern products are as reliable as the Japanese. 2) If your products are just as reliable how come they are so much cheaper? The fact is when you buy a Japanese quad from yamaha, Honda etc most of the money you're paying is not for the item itself but profits of multiple companies. Quads from the Japanese companies will often go through an importer followed by a wholesaler followed by the dealer before it gets to you, each one of them adding their profits. We directly import from the manufacturers and so the price the customer gets is therefore much reduced. 3) I have heard that parts supply is a problem for far eastern quads etc, what If I order from fast quads do you have good spares back up? What if it breaks can you repair it? We are connected with both the supplier and all their other main distributors and stock a wide variety of spares. If for any reason we don't have your spare will get it from another distributor within 10 days If it breaks we will supply any spares and will put you in touch with mechanics in your local area which will be able to perform the repair. 4) What's it like to drive a road legal buggy or quad on road? On road these machines handle very well, as they are rear wheel drive you use the throttle to help you steer through the corners faster and faster. They can very easily be made to get very sideways in absolute safety, the rush that these machines can give are unbelievable. The best thing is if the roads get boring for you just blast around off road and then drive it straight back home, no more trailers needed.
5) If I buy a rod legal item how often do I have to mot it what about tax and insurance? These bikes do not their first MOT for 3 years after purchase, and thereafter every 3 years They need to be taxed every year just like a car at a cost of £60 You will need insurance if you intend you using on the road please visit www.bikesure.co.uk for insurance quotes. Please read our terms and conditions for warranty coverage 6) What are their servicing costs like? Very minimal, these bikes are fairly easy on wearables such as brakes, oil and belts. If well maintained budget around £50-£100 for servicing. 7) How are they delivered? All our items are delivered by couriers in crates, they are 90% assembled. They require basics e.g. tightening wheel nuts, bolting on ancillaries such as carrying racks and minor adjustment. They are delivered with engine and components having been tested pre delivery. It will take approx half an hour and some petrol from delivery to be enjoying your purchase. All our products are delivered with full instructions, maintenance schedule and a free toll kit.
8) What's better a quad or a buggy? These are inherently different in characteristic, a buggy drives more like a rally car and you have the benefits of 2 seats and greater safety if you are more used to cars the buggy is the ones to go for, the quad is lighter and freer but also you are more exposed as well as required to have good balance, so the quad is more suited to the biker.
